Hi, everyone! I'm Sheridan. When I'm not teaching, I'm an avid traveller, having explored 25 countries and counting! My journey is far from over, and if you share this passion for travel, we have plenty to talk about. I'm also a foodie and love discussing delicious cuisines from around the world. If you're into cooking or have some mouth-watering recommendations, I'm all ears. Feel free to enlighten me anytime!

I've been working as an English tutor for over 15 years I had my own language school called Sheridan's Fun Fun English(SF). By doing so, I've had an incredible opportunity to meet learners from around the world. I've taught a wide range of learners from enthusiastic 5 years old to seasoned professionals in their 40s and 50s. I'm relishing every moment.

I am very passionate about learning and teaching languages. Also, I bring lots of humour and passion for learning to the table. I've horned my language teaching skills and have a few teaching certificates: CETLA(Certificate in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages by CAMBRIDGE ENGLISH), TESOL(Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages) and Preply Language certificate. Looking forward to meeting new students!

Who needs IELTS 7.0+ or above?

Depends on the needs of the learner

1) English for communication purposes: to improve basic rules of the languages e.g. writing an email for their work

starting with the most important grammar (Tense -> Sentence structure- Relative pronoun-> Passive-> Gerund-> To infinitive -> Participle -> Subjunctive mood->TEST) -> Writing practice & Revision

2) English for Academic purposes: preparing for exams such as IELTS and TOFEL

(reviewing their essays and providing insightful feedback to improve essay structure and writing styles)

- Practise essays & Provide feedback & revision

- Boost topic-related vocabulary when giving feedback

All lessons are individually tailored to every student. Therefore, it will be time-effective and within a short period of time learners will be able to see their improvement. Essential tips and insightful suggestions will be provided when giving feedback.

As a second language learner, I understand what the common challenges for learning Korean will be for others. Rather than having a certificate in language, I have a lot of experience teaching my mother tongue to people since I was a university student. Depending on the students' demands, If the goal of the student is to improve communicative competence, then the classes will focus on common phrases and conversational language. If they have more academic goals then the course will be enhanced further through the use of textbooks.

As a tutor, I've always thought about how the class could be fun yet effective for students for a long time and have taught online with different background students from all over the world. Should you have any further question, feel free to ask me anytime :)

Class Flow 수업 방향

During Induction, having self-introduction and getting to know each other as well as getting an idea about students (Ss') language level --> Decide which class they will be in and when it will be. Depending on their levels, textbooks or learning materials will be decided. After reviewing what we've learned the previous lessons, they will learn something new every lesson. Homework will be assigned every lesson. BE READY : ) Learning new languages is challenging & can be daunting but worth trying! Fake it until you make it
