Hi everyone :D! My name is Carolina, but you can call me Carol if you want! Or Anna if you prefer. I'm Brazilian, 37 years old, I was born in São Paulo and have been living in Brazil my whole life, partly in Rio Grande do Sul, partly in the state of São Paulo. I have traveled abroad a little bit, but always lived here.

My native language is Portuguese, but I also speak English if you need ,)! By the way, I have been studying English more and more in order to teach Portuguese better for my students. Oh, I love English (and Portuguese, of course)! And comparing both languages, besides being fun, can help a lot for learning. Of course, when students are speakers of Latin languages, the lesson can be fully in Portuguese. In this case, English can occasionally be useful to some explanation.

I have a degree in Letters (Portuguese) from the University of São Paulo (USP) and did research about writing and orality in two fields: Applied Linguistics and Translation from Latin to Portuguese. This education has been very useful to me as a Portuguese teacher to foreigners, for many reasons. First, because, even being a native speaker, it's also important to have a linguist's attitude, getting distanced, analysing and explaining how a language works to someone who's learning to speak it. Second, having had the experience in translation craft made me understand how to deal with each language's habits, nuances and hues of meaning. Speaking of which, recently, I started to add translated subtitles to videos, getting back to the work.

Although my studies and experiences had been mainly focused on writing, I concluded that orality and conversation are intrinsic to all written texts, in such a vital way, that you can't overlook utterance expressiveness ("orality") by any means. In other words: we need orality even to write a good text! A good text is actually a "speech". On the other hand, since I started teaching Portuguese to foreigners, I have been seeking to study more and more the "orality", the idioms, the native spoken Portuguese, my language "outside schoolbooks" so to speak... Writing helps indeed, but I hope to help my students out also with spontaneous spoken speech: let us bring more "realism" to the Portuguese studies! And all in a relaxing and light way, as I really want that learning Portuguese be something happy, nice and smooth to you guys ,)! Let's have a good time!

Communication is one of the most important things in life: we need to express ourselves and feel understood, just as we need food (and delicious food!). - Researcher in Applied Linguistics (Portuguese): studies about writing and orality relations in students' texts. The goal was to improve the teaching of writing skills by considering the importance of oral expressiveness.

- Researcher in Translation (from Latin to Portuguese): a translation of Cicero's "De signis". This experience was great to learn Cicero's Rhetoric (his writing/speech skills!) and also how languages "see" differently the world.

CUSTOM-MADE: I customize my lessons according to the students' needs and preferences. The first (trial) class will be very important to map what the student wants and needs.

Oiê :D! Meu nome é Carolina, mas também pode me chamar de Carol! Ou Anna, se preferir. Sou brasileira, nascida em São Paulo, tenho 37 anos e morei toda a minha vida no Brasil, parte no Rio Grande do Sul e parte no estado de São Paulo. Fiz apenas algumas viagens para o exterior, mas sempre morei aqui.

Minha língua nativa é o português, mas também falo inglês, se você precisar ,)! Tenho inclusive estudado cada vez mais o inglês para poder ensinar melhor o português para meus alunos. Adoro inglês aliás (além do português, obviamente)! Comparar os dois idiomas, além de ser divertido, pode ajudar bastante na aprendizagem. Claro, quando os alunos falam línguas latinas, a aula pode ser toda em português e apenas eventualmente o inglês servir para algum esclarecimento.

Sou formada em Letras (Português) pela Universidade de São Paulo (USP) e fiz pesquisas sobre escrita e oralidade em duas áreas: Linguística Aplicada e Tradução do Latim para o Português. Essa formação foi bastante útil para me tornar professora de português para estrangeiros, por várias razões. Primeiro porque, mesmo sendo falante nativa de português, é preciso também ter a atitude de uma linguista, de alguém que se distancia, analisa e explica o uso e o funcionamento da língua a outra pessoa que está aprendendo a falar. Segundo motivo: ter tido experiência no ofício da tradução me fez entender como lidar com as nuances de sentido e os hábitos linguísticos de cada idioma. A propósito, recentemente comecei a colocar legendas em vídeos, voltando ao ofício da tradução.

Embora meus estudos e experiências tenham sido inicialmente voltados para a escrita e para a produção textual, concluí que a oralidade e a conversação são intrínsecas a todo texto escrito, de forma tão vital, que não se pode deixar de lado a expressividade oral. Em outras palavras: precisamos da oralidade até para escrever um bom texto! Um bom texto é na verdade um "discurso". Por outro lado, com o ensino do português para os estrangeiros, tenho buscado cada vez mais estudar a "oralidade", as expressões idiomáticas, o português nativo falado "fora dos livros escolares" por assim dizer... A escrita ajuda, mas espero ajudar meus alunos também com o som da fala espontânea, trazendo mais "realismo" para os estudos de português! E tudo de forma leve e relaxante, pois quero muito que aprender português seja algo feliz e tranquilo para vocês!

Falo muito, escrevo muito e adoro conversar! :) Sobre muitos assuntos! E as pessoas em geral se sentem à vontade para falar comigo. Eu amo comunicação! A comunicação é uma das coisas mais importantes da vida: precisamos nos expressar e nos sentir compreendidos, assim como precisamos de comida (e que seja saborosa!). - Pesquisa em Linguística Aplicada (Português): estudos sobre relações entre escrita e oralidade em textos de alunos. O objetivo foi aprimorar o ensino da escrita, considerando a importância da expressividade oral.

- Pesquisa em Tradução (do Latim Clássico para o Português): tradução de trecho do "De signis" de Cícero. Essa experiência foi ótima para aprender a Retórica de Cícero (suas habilidades de escrita/fala!) e também descobrir como as línguas "veem" o mundo de forma diferente.

- Aulas de Português (Redação e Gramática) para falantes nativos e estrangeiros, em escolas e aulas particulares,

- Revisão de Textos (Português - Brasil).

- Atualmente sou servidora pública, além de professora de Português para Estrangeiros.

AULAS ARTESANAIS: Eu me disponho a elaborar minhas aulas artesanalmente, de acordo com as necessidades e preferências dos alunos. A primeira aula (experimental) será muito importante para mapear o que o aluno quer e o que precisa.

Ciao ragazzi! Mi chiamo Anna... o Carol! o Carolina! Sono brasiliana, nata a San Paolo, ho 36 anni e ho sempre vissuto in Brasile. La mia lingua madre è il Portoghese.

Ho una laurea in Lettere (Portoghese) presso l'Università di San Paolo (USP) e ho svolto ricerche sulla scrittura/oralità in due aree: 1) Linguistica applicata e 2) Traduzione in Portoghese. In passato, insegnavo Portoghese con particolare attenzione alla scrittura e alla grammatica, sia per madrelingua che per stranieri. Lavoro nel servizio pubblico dal 2017 e sono disposta a insegnare di nuovo Portoghese, però solo per stranieri. Spero di incontrare presto i miei studenti!

Sebbene i miei studi e le mie esperienze si siano concentrati principalmente sulla scrittura, ho concluso che l'oralità e la conversazione sono intrinseche a ogni testo scritto, in modo così vitale, che l'espressività orale non può essere tralasciata. In altre parole: abbiamo bisogno dell'oralità per scrivere un buon testo! Un buon testo è in realtà un "discorso".

In effetti, scrivo molto e amo parlare! :) Su molti argomenti! E le persone in generale si sentono libere di parlare con me. Amo la comunicazione! La comunicazione è una delle cose più importanti nella vita: abbiamo bisogno di esprimerci e sentirci compresi, così come abbiamo bisogno del cibo.

- Ricerca in Linguistica Applicata (Portoghese): studi sul rapporto tra scrittura e oralità nei testi degli studenti. L'obiettivo era quello di migliorare l'insegnamento della scrittura, considerando l'importanza dell'espressività orale.

- Ricerca sulla Traduzione (dal Latino Classico al Portoghese): traduzione di un brano dal "De signis" di Cicerone. Questa esperienza è stata ottima per imparare la Retorica di Cicerone (i suoi talenti di scrittura/linguaggio!) e anche per scoprire come le lingue "vedono" il mondo in modo diverso.

- Lezioni di Portoghese (Scrittura e Grammatica) per madrelingua e stranieri, in scuole e classi private,

CORSI ARTIGIANALI: Sono disposta a progettare le mie classi in base alle esigenze e alle preferenze degli studenti. La prima lezione (sperimentale) sarà molto importante per tracciare ciò di cui lo studente vuole e ha bisogno.
